How Students Can Earn College Credit Through Modern States

Modern States is a free online program that prepares students for CLEP exams, which are accepted for credit at nearly 3,000 colleges and universities.

Students who complete a Modern States course can receive a voucher that pays for the CLEP exam, making the entire process free

If students need help, they can text me directly at 504‑215‑7820.

🎓 How It Works

  1. Sign up for a free account at ModernStates.org.
  2. Choose a course aligned to a CLEP exam. Modern States currently offers 32 CLEP-aligned courses. [modernstates.org]
  3. Complete the videos, readings, and quizzes at your own pace.
  4. Earn a free CLEP exam voucher by meeting the score requirements (below).
  5. Take the CLEP exam at a testing center and earn college credit if you pass.

📊 Score Requirements for Earning a Voucher

To receive a Modern States CLEP voucher, students must:

  • Complete all quizzes with a 75% average or higher
  • Score at least 75% on the final exam.

If a student doesn’t meet the 75% threshold on the first try, they may retake the quizzes and final exam

🎁 The Voucher Program (What Students Get for Free)

Modern States covers 100% of the CLEP exam fee through a voucher that students request within their completed course.

Steps:

  1. Complete the coursework and pass with required scores.
  2. Request the CLEP exam voucher from inside the course.
  3. Schedule the exam at a CLEP testing center and use the voucher instead of paying.
  4. After taking the exam, students may also request test center reimbursement if the site charges an additional administration fee.
