At St. Charles Tutoring Lab, we believe every student can succeed with the right support, the right strategy, and the right mindset.

We are more than a tutoring service. We are a long-term learning partner for families—helping students grow from where they are today into confident, capable learners prepared for high school, college, and beyond.


Meet the Founder: Dr. Johnel Bryant Robinson

My name is Dr. Johnel Bryant Robinson, and I am the founder of St. Charles Tutoring Lab.


I am an award-winning educator with a background in mathematics, instructional technology, and educational leadership. Over the years, I’ve worked with students across grade levels and learning styles—including those who need additional support, structure, or confidence in their learning.

My philosophy is simple:

Learning happens at the edge of understanding.

That means we create a space where students are comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and building real understanding—not just memorizing for a test.


I’ve also guided my own children through early academic preparation, including starting ACT readiness in middle school, leading to strong scores and scholarship opportunities. That same long-term approach is what I bring to every family I serve.

  • Math (all levels), Science, and Reading support
  • ACT Prep and early college readiness

  • Students with IEPs or unique learning needs

How to Get Started (Simple & Personal)

We keep our onboarding process simple and personal—because every child is different.

Step 1: Text to Get Started

  • Your child’s grade level
  • Your state/location
  • Where you are in your learning journey (traditional school, homeschool, struggling, advanced, etc.)

Step 2: Quick Intake & Guidance

Our team (including our Student Success Support) will:

  • Ask a few follow-up questions
  • Understand your child’s needs
  • Recommend the best starting plan

Step 3: Begin Sessions

Once we align on the plan:

  • Sessions are scheduled
  • Support begins immediately
  • Progress is monitored along the way

Session Details

  • Sessions are typically 45–60 minutes
  • Standard rate: $25 per session
  • Virtual and in-person options available (based on location)
