Building Futures One Conversation at a Time: CLEP Camp and the National Future Leaders Institute

Some days remind you exactly why you started.

This week during our CLEP Camp, we welcomed new families, connected with returning students, and continued helping young people see that college credit, scholarships, and leadership opportunities are within their reach.

One of the highlights was meeting a gifted and accelerated 6th-grade student who has decided to pursue Spanish through the CLEP pathway. Watching students discover opportunities that can save them time and money in college is one of the most rewarding parts of this work.

Before camp began, I asked students to reflect on something they enjoyed from the previous week. Their answers reminded me that learning is about more than academics. Students shared how much they enjoyed connecting with one another, building friendships, and being part of a community of learners. As an educator, I’ve enjoyed those connections as well.

CLEP Camp continues to show what can happen when students are given access, encouragement, and a clear pathway forward. Through our partnership with Modern States, students are learning how they can earn college credit while still in high school, potentially reducing future college costs and accelerating their academic journeys.

Looking Ahead: The National Future Leaders Institute

As exciting as CLEP Camp has been, it is only one piece of a larger vision.

This summer, students also have the opportunity to participate in the Learn. Love. Inspire. National Future Leaders Institute (LLI-NFLI), a four-week virtual leadership and career exploration experience designed to help students discover their potential and explore future career paths.

Throughout the institute, students will:

  • Develop leadership skills
  • Explore healthcare, business, education, and entrepreneurship careers
  • Learn scholarship and college preparation strategies
  • Connect with peers from different communities
  • Complete a community impact project
  • Earn volunteer service documentation and a certificate of completion

The goal is simple: help students see possibilities for their future while equipping them with the tools to pursue them.

Why This Matters

Every student deserves access to opportunities that help them dream bigger.

Whether a student is earning college credit through CLEP, preparing for the ACT, exploring leadership through LLI-NFLI, or simply discovering a new passion, each step matters.

What began as tutoring has grown into something much larger: creating pathways that help students learn, lead, and inspire others.

Yesterday’s CLEP Camp reminded me that students are hungry for opportunity. They are looking for guidance, community, and a chance to build a brighter future.

We’re honored to be part of that journey.
